Piball launching!
I'm just your run-of-the-mill gal who loves the inner workings of the atmosphere. This most likely began as a kid where I have lived in many places including California, Texas, North Carolina, and even London, England, and all of these receive super different weather systems and climates. You could say living in various environments really
sparked
my interest in meteorology (lightning pun intended). Particularly in Texas, I witnessed first-hand the devastations of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, causing me to not only want to learn more about the Mother Nature herself itself but how her wrath can impact communities, particularly those that are marginalized.
Big-time nature, boba, and animal lover. Oh, and food. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, hiking, camping, drawing, watching anime, playing the amazing sport of Quidditch, and many other nerdy things! Also traveling if expenses allow and when there's not a killer global virus.
My research interests vary from the large scale to the miniscule. Currently, my research involves analyzing observations of boundary layer processes, with a specific focus on how wind farms may be impacting wind speed, vertial mixing, and other meteorological properties in the lower atmosphere. My projects prior to this have focused on urban heat islands, lightning climatologies, and verification of the probabilistic Warn-on Forecast model (see Research and Class Projects tab above). Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions about me or my work!
